We just had a formation in honor of our battalion’s lost soldiers. It’s crazy because we only lost three in Iraq. Two from IED’s, and the other from rabies. The other five were from suicides.

A lot of people, mostly civilians don’t understand how we are created. How our body and mind is shaped, molded for war. Each one of these soldiers took their lives because the only thing they had to look forward to was gone. Love.

As soldiers, we attach ourselves to a vent source, a kind of sanctuary. One of the men that took his own life was a fucking Captain. He held his composure for his men until he made it back state side. His girlfriend cheated on him and put all his belongings in storage. When he was picking it up, he found his pistol and took his life there in the little garage.

If you are a military s/o and you are fucking over your man/woman that is active military, whether it be long distance or deployment, fucking stop right now.

As we have a four day for our fallen comrades through the ages, I want to give credit to every soldier, marine, seaman and airman out there. Yes, I am getting out of the military but the reason was because I knew I wasn’t coming back home to my ex if I went over there. I did funeral detail a year ago and had to bury a female Sgt. that was my age. She was five days from coming home, just married before deployment and ran over an IED (Improvised Explosive Device). Her name was Devin Snyder. Look it up. I put her body into the ground and I didn’t want my girlfriend to do the same. I’m not turning my back on my brothers in arms. Only making sure I was home for good with the girl I loved. She lost respect for me since I did this and I understand, only not a lot of people know the feeling of being bred for war.

So with this, I ask you to take a minute and thank the military for making the ultimate sacrifice, no matter what way, for your safety and freedom.

YEAP sent in my app for tuition assistance through goarmyed and I got it the same day. once the fiscal year ends in september/october i’m gonna apply for another 4.5k. now all i need to do is make sure my deferment is on file, register for classes then log the classes on my army file and its paid for. FUCK YEA

So I’m up watching stand up comedy on netflix and I can’t help but wonder, “WHY THE FUCK IS THIS SO FUNNY?!” You ever done that? It’s funny; no doubt about that, but I can’t help wonder why is it so funny. And I’m like WTF why can’t I do that! I mean I’m a moderately witty guy. I can say some funny shit here and there. I have some funny stories and theres times I have people gasping for air from laughing so hard and other times people are staring at me like they just walked in on a conversation between some of my soldiers; the type of conversation that goes something like ‘Hey John, so what Disney princess do you think is the most bangable? I bet it’s Jasmine” or as if I just repeated ,word for word, my enlistment contract. How does the same story get such different reactions. Obviously part of the reason is the audience. I’ve seen comics do the same set and get the same reactions. I admire comedians because most of the time they are successful but they always go out there and put themselves out there for people to heckle, jeer, boo, and not laugh. It’s always hard to put yourself out there when performing your art form. Definitely want to try comedy. I’ll put that on my list.
